Terms of Service
The plain-language terms for booking and receiving tech help from Tech Help With Q.
Effective date: July 19, 2026
The Short Version
I offer patient, in-home and remote tech help for seniors in Calgary. Sessions are booked through Calendly. I accept credit or debit card, and there’s a $25 fee for cancellations made within 24 hours of your appointment. I’ll always do my best to help, but I can’t guarantee that every issue gets fixed. Some problems are outside anyone’s control. This page covers the practical details; if anything here doesn’t make sense, just ask me.
Acceptance of These Terms
By using this website, booking a session, or working with me (Q, operating as Tech Help With Q, “I,” “me,” “my”), you agree to these Terms of Service. If something here doesn’t sit right with you, please reach out before booking so we can talk it through.
What Tech Help With Q Offers
I provide one-on-one, patient tech help for seniors, including:
- In-home and remote tech support in Calgary
- Help with smartphones, tablets, computers, email, video calls, smart home devices, online safety, and AI tools
Every session is tailored to what you need. There’s no fixed script, and no question is too small.
Booking and Scheduling
Sessions are booked through Calendly. Weekday appointments are generally available between 5 and 7 PM, since I also work full time in cybersecurity during business hours; this lets me give every appointment my full attention without rushing. If you’re not sure what you need, you can request a call through the contact form first, so we can talk through what would help before you book. Individual help sessions run up to 2 hours each; for bigger projects, we can spread the work across multiple visits.
Pricing and Payment
I aim to keep pricing simple and transparent, with no surprise fees:
- In-home tech help (Calgary): $75 + GST for the first hour, $60 + GST for the second hour
- Prepaid sessions & gift certificates: 1 hour for $75 + GST, 3 hours for $189 + GST ($63 per hour), or 5 hours for $299 + GST ($59.80 per hour). Prepaid hours can be used for in-home or remote sessions, and can be bought as a gift for someone else. Packs larger than 5 hours are available at a further discounted hourly rate - just ask
I accept credit or debit card, made securely online through Stripe at the time of booking. Your card details go straight to Stripe, and I never see or store your full card number.
Prepaid sessions and gift certificates
Prepaid hours are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase. They’re transferable: you can use them yourself or give them to someone else, and if you mark your purchase as a gift at checkout, I’ll email you a printable gift certificate for the recipient. If none of the hours have been used, you can request a full refund within 30 days of purchase; once a pack has been partially used, the remaining hours aren’t refundable, but they stay yours to use for the rest of the 12 months. Prepaid hours cover the session time itself. Because the online booking calendar collects payment at the time of booking, prepaid sessions are scheduled directly with me. Just call, text, or email and I’ll book you in. I’ll keep track of your remaining hours and let you know your balance after each visit.
Cancellations and Rescheduling
Plans change, and that’s okay. Just let me know as soon as you can. A $25 cancellation fee applies to cancellations made within 24 hours of your scheduled appointment. This helps me keep appointment times available and fair for everyone. Rescheduling with more than 24 hours’ notice is always free.
No Guarantee of Specific Outcomes
I bring patience, care, and real technical experience to every session, and I’ll always do my best to solve the problem in front of us. That said, technology doesn’t always cooperate. Some issues are outside anyone’s control, such as hardware failure, third-party service outages, or manufacturer restrictions. I can’t guarantee that every issue will be fully resolved in a single session, or at all, but I will always be upfront with you about what’s possible and what isn’t.
You’re responsible for backing up anything important, like photos, documents, and contacts, before a session where data loss is a realistic risk. I’ll flag this when it’s relevant, but the backup itself is on you.
Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by law, Tech Help With Q is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from tech help sessions or use of this website, including data loss, missed appointments, or costs related to third-party hardware or software issues. Nothing in this section limits liability that can’t be excluded under Alberta law.
Third-Party Services
This website and my booking process rely on a few outside services:
- Netlify hosts this website.
- Web3Forms delivers contact form submissions to me.
- Calendly powers all scheduling and booking.
- Quo provides my business phone line for calls, texts, and voicemail. Calls and voicemails are recorded and transcribed, and Quo’s AI assistant may answer and take a message when I’m unavailable.
- Stripe processes card payments.
Each of these has its own terms of service, separate from mine, governing how their part of the process works.
Intellectual Property
The content, design, and branding of this website belong to Tech Help With Q. You’re welcome to browse and share links to this site. Please don’t copy or republish the content elsewhere without asking first.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada that apply within it. Any disputes will be handled under Alberta law, but honestly, my hope is we’d just talk it out first.
Changes to These Terms
I may update these terms from time to time as my services evolve. Changes take effect once posted here, with an updated “Effective date” above.
