Tech Help with Q offers patient, one-on-one help with everyday technology for Calgary seniors - smartphones, tablets, laptops, and desktop computers. I help with email, apps, and video calls, computer troubleshooting, online safety and scam prevention, smart-home devices, and learning AI tools like ChatGPT. If it has a screen and it’s giving you trouble, I can help - just ask.

Yes. I offer in-home tech help throughout Calgary, so you can learn on your own devices, at your own pace, somewhere you feel comfortable. In-home visits in Calgary are $75 + GST for the first hour and $60 + GST for each additional hour. Prefer not to have a visitor? I can also help remotely.

Yes. If you live outside Calgary, or you’d simply rather not have someone come to your home, I can help remotely by phone or video call and walk you through things one step at a time. Remote help works well for questions, quick fixes, and learning how to use an app or device.

An in-home visit in Calgary is $75 + GST for the first hour, then $60 + GST for each additional hour. I keep every session to a maximum of two hours, which is usually enough to make real progress without anyone feeling overwhelmed. You’ll always get a fair price with no surprises, and I’ll go over any costs before we begin.

Yes. The Q Tech Care Plan is $99 + GST per month and includes one 60-minute appointment every month - remote or in-home in Calgary - plus a scam and email safety review, device updates and basic cleanup, and help with whatever's on your mind, from apps to photos to AI. Extra time is $60 + GST per hour, and you can cancel anytime with 30 days' notice. It's appointment-based, so it doesn't include emergency support, and your monthly appointment doesn't roll over if unused. In surrounding communities, the usual $25 travel fee applies to in-home visits.

Along with Calgary, I travel to nearby communities including Airdrie, Cochrane, Chestermere, Okotoks, and nearby areas. For these surrounding communities, in-home help is $75 + $25 travel + GST for the first hour and $60 + GST for each additional hour. Not sure whether you’re in range? Just ask.

Yes - helping seniors stay safe online is a big part of what I do. I can show you how to recognize and avoid phishing emails, suspicious phone calls and texts, and romance scams, and how to manage passwords and protect your personal information. You can also check a suspicious message anytime with the free Scam Check tool in my Companion app, or report and confirm fraud through the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre.

Yes. I offer beginner-friendly help with AI tools like ChatGPT - a free tool that can help with everyday tasks such as writing emails, finding recipes, planning trips, and answering questions. You can learn one-on-one, or join my “AI for Everyday Life” workshop. No experience needed, and we always cover how to stay safe and protect your privacy.

Yes. I run hands-on, no-jargon workshops for senior centres, libraries, and community groups in and around Calgary. The two most-requested are Detecting & Avoiding Online Scams and AI for Everyday Life. Each runs 60–90 minutes, is designed for groups of 8 to 15, and costs $199 + GST. Participants receive printed take-home guides. Get in touch and we’ll find a time that works for your group.

I accept credit or debit card, paid securely online through Stripe when you book, so your card details never touch my systems. A $25 fee applies to cancellations made within 24 hours of a scheduled appointment.

Yes. Prepaid sessions make a wonderful gift for a parent, friend, or neighbour - and a nice way to save on your own visits. Choose a 1-hour session ($75 + GST), a 3-hour pack ($189 + GST), or a 5-hour pack ($299 + GST). If it’s a gift, just tick “This is a gift” at checkout and I’ll email you a printable gift certificate. After you buy, just call, text, or email me to set up each visit - your hours are already paid for, so there’s no need to book through the online calendar. Prepaid hours are good for 12 months, work for in-home or remote sessions, and I keep track of your remaining hours for you.

Appointments are available on weekday evenings from 5–8 PM, and on weekends from 10 AM to 5 PM. During the week I work full time leading cybersecurity and compliance programs, so weekday evenings and weekends are when I can give each appointment my full attention - no rushing, no judgment.
